Truckin' to the Oldies

About Ben

Bennie Anderson Foy, Jr. (known as Ben Foy) is a long distance commercial truck driver with experience in broadcasting.
Ben’s broadcasting experience includes working as a disc jockey, radio engineer and radio production director.
As a trucker he has logged over four (4) million miles, crossing our nation via the highways where he has gained a
“real trucker world” experience. This experience uniquely qualifies Ben to produce and present material for truckers to which they can relate.
Ben began his broadcasting career in radio in 1971 while a sophomore at Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, North Carolina.
As a teen he was employed on a morning show on WTLK from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. From the morning show he left for school where
he carried a full student schedule. After school, he then began his shift in his uncle’s grocery store where he would work until 8:00 p.m.
During the summer between Ben’s junior and senior year in high school, he attended Elkin’s Institute in Atlanta Georgia where he
obtained his first class Federal Communications License. Upon obtaining his first class “ticket” and as a senior in high school,
Ben became chief engineer for two (2) different radio stations as well as performed as DJ for the afternoon drive show on WTLK .
When asked how long his son Ben had been trucking, Ben’s father, Bennie Anderson Foy, Sr. would reply, “Bennie used a steering
wheel as a teething ring.” Ben is a past member of the Kenworth Drivers Board as well as a former member of the
National Association of Independent Truckers Advisory Board. Outside of God and his family, Ben has three (3) passions.
Trucking. Radio. Music. Ben created Truckin’ to the Oldies while recovering from prostate cancer. By combining trucking, radio and music,
Ben enjoys his passions while providing truckers a wonderful radio listening experience.

Let Ben and Ben-Bandit Productions put his 3 passions to work for you.
